My next favorite animal to hunt--- BEARS

memorycandle.gif

I got back into BEAR hunting in the fall of 2001. It had been some time since I had seriously done any bear hunting and it didn't take me long to really get back into it.

I had a few close encounters while scouting for the bow season opener in Oct. Had a sow with a cub come within 5 feet of me and snotted on my legs 3 times, before we decided to part company.

I was fortunate enough to get some awesome video and some nice photos also.

Bear hunters had good success this year with a total of 360 plus bears being taken. Zone 1 had a quota of 200 bears and that was filled on the first day of modern gun season, 10 Nov.

Zone 2 had a quota of 150 bear and only had 91 taken by the end of season which closed on 30 Nov. 2001.

Zone 5 and 5A only needed the first 2 days to complete the quota for there. A total of 70 bears were taken on that week-end.
